For Chemetall’s Bayswater space, the clients came to us with the problem of unusable break out spaces and small dark interiors. This small renovation has had a big impact on the way employees now use their spaces. We wanted to provide a comfortable and sheltered outdoor space that employees can enjoy in all weather. With a restrictive area to work within and a highly constrained spaces, we opened up the interiors and gave the employees a fully functioning kitchen and breakout space equipped with state of the art appliances and high end finishes.
Flowing out to the exterior, we allowed for a multi use of furniture and spaces, so that it could be adapted and acclimatised to different uses and weather. With a mix of integrated and flexible seating, lush lower planting and more established trees, and materials that will weather and age gracefully contrasted with robust and durable furniture, we aimed to establish an effective lunch/after work break out space and activate previously dead space.
